Another side of superheroes, villains and muppets!

Ever imagined comic characters in a classic setting portrait? Well, Hillary White sure did. In her latest series, she created portraitures with monsters, villains, superheroes and muppets as her subjects. These portraits are currently displayed at Nosh Kitchen Bar in Portland, Maine where you can enjoy this mashup of classic fine art with pop culture while eating a tasty meal. Some of these portraits are based on actual paintings—R2-D2 stars in a knockoff of Francois-Xavier Fabre's Portrait Of A Man, Batman in Anthony Van Dyck's Portrait Of Jan Brueghel, the Green Ranger in John Singer Sargent's Portrait of Louis Alexander Fagan, and Kermit in Frans Hals' Portrait of a Young Woman (so technically, Kermit sits for his portrait like a lady). More of these can be seen at Hillary White's gallery
